Besides fishing with Capt. Bill personally on several occasions I have had the pleasure working with Bill at my prior job as a travel agent for a Danish fishing travel agency. The clients that fished with Bill, were always very satisfied and enjoyed great fishing and all spoke highly of Bill.
I now work as an editor of Denmark’s largest fishing magazine, and must admit that I have been fortunate enough to fish with several captains all over the world. Bill certainly stands out as a leading example of what guiding should be all about. He is very knowledgeable of the fishing in his area and enjoys great success when it comes to catches, but more important, Bill has a calm and pleasant way of making sure everyone enjoys their day on the water as much as possible. And when it comes down to it – that is what good guiding is all about.

Hi Laurie & Bill
Sunday was the best time ever! I liked that I spent it with my Chrissy and Kristen also. I think that was Kristen’s first time fishing and she thought it was the best time ever!
Thanks Bill, I’ll ask her to write a review for you on Yelp, she does that often….but I think your busy anyhow.
Now if you can just send the pictures of the fish I told everyone we caught, they’ll believe me.

Fishing with Captain Bill Russell is always the highlight of our winters in Florida. For 8 years, on our various outings, Bill’s expertise of where and how to fish has produced wonderful results netting us snook, redfish, sea trout, jacks, pompano and even the occasional dreaded “oyster fish”. Bill’s easy going friendly manner makes the day most enjoyable and creates unforgettable memories. Thanks for all the good times.

I have fished Florida waters since 1955, with and without charter captains. I met Captain Bill Russell in 1997 and have been fishing with him regularly since. Captain Russell not only provides a great fishing experience, he is the most knowledgeable person I know regarding the various fish, their habitat, and fishing techniques for SW Florida. For a unique, informative, and enjoyable day of fishing on SW Florida waters, I strongly recommend Captain Bill Russell

Bill, it was a pleasure to fish with you. You’re a real professional & I had a wonderful time. I will call tomorrow & book 1/05/2010 for a 1/2 day, for my son from Hong Kong & Bro from Virginia.
Thanks again & Best Regards, E. J. Eckert
Although Mark and I have been to Florida three times in our six years together, one of the main reasons we return is to be able to have you as our awesome Captain, you have brought forth your bravery, for when times were say,, Chilly. I recall when you received a phone call from another guide, when on my first fishing trip: I think it went something like this… “I’m on the water right now” (silence) “Yes, I have a bunch of crazy Eskimo people fishing…yeah they’re from Canada”. Right then that showed that along with your extreme fishing knowledge you also shared your sense of humor, alongside with your patience for the beginner salt water fishermen, such as myself, you kept giving me confidence even when my confidence was…at times lacking, even as Shrimp kept flying off the hook before hitting the water. But I was catching fish after that hurdle was crossed.
I also recall in February 2009’s tripthat you took the time to locate the Dolphins, and I really honestly believe that you really do enjoy what you do, and that is why you are my friend for as long as Mark and I keep showing up for the Florida Sunshine you can guarantee that we will be Fishing with you again.
See you in March 2010.
